Organisation, mobility and flexibility are crucial for the success of every builder or craftsman. Having the right kind of tools and the matching fixings at hand makes all the difference. Looking for tools, walking long distances and incorrect and missing materials waste time and money. A new logistics system by the Waldach-based fischer group of companies optimises work processes and helps to avoid waste: the
fischer L-Boxx with its unique refill system.
Whether metal worker, plumber, electrician, joiner, carpenter or facade builder – ever craftsman knows the problem: working some days on several building sites, always under time pressure. Traffic jams, bad weather, finding nowhere to park the car, tight spaces – finally making it on time to the building site. And then work can’t begin or continued because the right kind of wall plug is missing or because the injection resin cartridge is empty.
Not having achieved a great deal, the craftsman goes away to buy the missing items and materials from his stock, the nearest dealer or the DIY market, and losing a lot of time and money in the process. Market studies have shown that only about a third of the time spent actually adds to the value of a construction project.
Well sorted – with fischer’s mobile product assortments
In September 2010 the fischer group of companies presents its new logistics concept for fixing elements: the fischer L-Boxx System. This is a modular and mobile system for intelligent organisation, storage and transport of fixing and anchoring items in assortment boxes, designed to help craftsmen to improve their work efficiency and to avoid wasting time.
The fischer L-Boxx System helps to cut non-productive times. Made to measure for individual needs, it helps to carry order and to enhance the user's added value. With this adaptable and mobile storage system, craftsmen always have the right fixing solution and tools at hand for scheduled – and at times unforeseen – work. The value added chain from stock – workshop – vehicle – construction site – site of installation is no longer interrupted.
For the market launch, fischer offers its L-Boxx System in two variants: Concept Style with its unique refill system and Individual Style for the personal composition of the boxes. The Concept Style product line includes one box size with five different compartments, arranged by product groups: plastic plugs, cavity anchors, long-shaft anchors, steel anchors and chemical resin anchors. The basic box outfit covers the most important fixing elements for all common building materials and applications. Concept Style is designed mainly for metal and façade builders, interior finishing work and installing trades (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical) as well as building / facility management. Individual Style offers four box sizes which are kitted out individually, depending on needs and requirements.
The Refill System
To make sure that the boxes are kept refilled at all times, the fischer fixing specialists have developed a unique refill system for the L-Boxx. It consists of perforated polybags for rapid refills for the inset boxes inside the cases. The Refill System covers a wide spectrum of different fixing elements from fischer’s total product range which precisely match the sizes of the inset boxes. The convenient polyamide bags are perfectly suited for the L-Boxx in terms of economic efficiency, handling and transport, and they are highly resistant to dirt and weathering.
Connecting – stacking – carrying
The high-quality, light-weight boxes provide enough space for all small parts, tools and machines. The intuitive click system with a single handle allows the boxes to be connected in series, as it were. Each box features a top fold-down flush carrying handle and recessed handles on its side. The box is closed with just two solid snap-action locks. The topmost handle allows the whole stack to be carried, with the mechanism designed for high loads. Connecting, stacking and separating – never has a “merger” been easier.
The L-Boxx is indispensable for efficient and proper on-site work. Its robust material takes heavy loads without breaking and offers a variety of other practical uses, for instance as a convenient seat, a stable support and as a work top. It also boasts a wide range of accessories and equipment such as roller boards, cushions, etc. It also integrates easily into the Sortimo Globelyst vehicle interior fittings system on shelf bases, case tables and mobile box rails.
